Hannah Chanatry

Hannah Chanatry is a freelance journalist reporting on climate change and the environment.

 

Her print and audio work can be found at Inside Climate News, NPR, WBUR, the International Network of Street Papers, and the Syracuse Post-Standard, among other publications.

 

Chanatry previously spent several years reporting and producing general news for WBUR, Boston’s flagship NPR station. This included regularly filling in as EP for the local All Things Considered and Morning Edition broadcasts.

 

In 2022, she was a recipient of the Ocean Science Journalism fellowship at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Her work has taken her from lobster boats in Boston harbor, to the top of the highest peak in New England, to public libraries and community centers in Scotland.  

 

Chanatry holds a master’s degree in environmental politics from the University of Edinburgh and a bachelor’s from St. Lawrence University. She is currently based in Edinburgh, Scotland and covers stories from around the globe.
